5 Reasons I Am Not A Fashion Blogger

1. "Fashionability"

I'm pretty sure you need to be fashionable to be a fashion blogger. I will be the first to tell you that 5 days out of the week I am in leggings and a tee shirt. I'm in college, I'm not going to dress up for class, that's just not happening. Maybe I'm just lazy.

2. Photoshoots

Fashion blogging requires photoshoots. There's a few issues I have with this one. First of all, photos mean having to wear makeup, which is also something I don't do on a daily basis (check out how here). The second problem is that photoshoots require a quality camera as well as a photographer (or a tripod). I have neither. I had a decent camera at home ('twas a hand-me-down from my talented brother) but I was not gonna lug that to school (regrets). All I have is my iPhone 5 camera and myself as the photographer. No photoshoots happening here anytime soon.

3. Being "trendy"

Me? Keeping up with trends? *laughs* You will never catch me browsing through photos of New York Fashion Week evaluating Ralph Lauren's latest line, or buying Vogue to see what's "in." All of my knowledge of trends comes from pinterest and instagram (I really need to get out more). As much as I appreciate a good outfit, I'm not scavenging the fashion world to make sure I'm wearing the right things.

4.  Variability

I'm a simple girl when it comes to my wardrobe. I'd say probably 2/3 of my tops in my closet are striped and probably 1/6 of all of my clothes are navy. Clearly I'm really adventurous when it comes to my purchases. No one wants to read a fashion blog by a girl who wears 15 variations of the same outfit.

5. Money

I am a poor college student. How the heck would I blog about all the latest trends if I have no money to buy them? Fashion blogging is for those who have the resources to do so and I certainly do not. Once again, I'm in college. (Click here to donate to this poor college girl)

All of this being said, I will keep to my lifestyle blogging ways. As much as I would love to be Sarah Vickers, that's just not happening anytime soon.

  1. You don't have to be wealthy to be a fashion blogger! Trust me ;) I definitely think blogging has helped me to expand my wardrobe though. I never would have tried booties if I hadn't seen them so many places, and now I wear mine more than any other shoe I own!

Hope you are having a great week :)

  3. Its basically all about trendy accessories and that is what women bother the most which is a good thing because fashion should be the one that is in trends.
