STS Sunday: God's Got This, Y'all!

Today's STS Sunday is a little out of the ordinary, but totally relevant to my life right now. About a year ago, I was a senior in high school, stressed about applying to colleges, getting accepted to them, and eventually my choice of a home for the next four years. I knew I wanted somewhere I'd fit in, and somewhere that I was in love with. I'd already visited TCU and knew I loved it, and was simply waiting on the fateful letter I'd receive in the mail.

One of my absolutely favorite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11,

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

This verse brings great peace to someone with anxiety (like me, but that's a discussion for another day), especially during stressful times, such as waiting for an acceptance letter. But as many times as I prayed this verse and for God to bless me with wonderful plans, I had no idea where I'd end up and what God's plans were (well, no one does). However, He absolutely knocked his plans out of the park. I feel like God had planned for this to happen for the longest time, but I had no realization of it until I got my acceptance letter in the mail December 18, 2013.

I've been so blessed here, with the most amazing first semester of college a girl could ask for. I've already done plenty of bragging about my school, but during this time of the year, I figured everyone is stressed. Whether its about waiting on an acceptance letter, a job offer, enough money for the holidays, or good grades on your finals, everyone needs a little reassurance that it will all be okay. Here's a few verses to remind you that this is true. (Post these around your house, or study area, to remind you that He has a plan!)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philippians 4:6

"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." -Proverbs 19:21

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -Matthew 6:34

I hope this gives everyone a little peace of mind, I know it definitely does for me. Good luck to everyone starting finals this week, and for everyone going through any other stress! Remember y'all, God's got this!!
