Happy New Year + How to Throw a NYE Party on a Budget!

Happy New Year! I was lucky enough to ring in 2015 with my best friends from high school, and lucky ol' me volunteered to have the party at my house. It was such a fun night, definitely one to remember! However, since I sort of took on the responsibility late, I didn't want to spend very much money on party decorations, but I still wanted it to look good! I wanted to share a bit of what I got and how I decorated with y'all... along with some pics from the party of course!

Found this awesome tinsel at the Dollar Store, had to buy two packs! It got all over the basement but totally worth it for the added sparkle.

Best part about the holidays ending? Christmas decorations are 70% off at Target. Scored this gorgeous garland and some gold glittery wrapping paper in holiday section!

Found this adorable straws in the dollar section at Target. I had absolutely no need for straws but how could I pass up a deal like that?!

I bought all of these goodies at the Dollar Store, the hats were in a pack of 4 and the beads came four to a pack- definitely cheaper than buying my stuff at Party City!

My favorite part of all the decorations: the photo backdrop. My friends and I are notorious for "needing" the perfect instagram, so I thought the perfect solution to this was to set up a designated area for just that! I covered our wall art with brown wrapping paper (or maybe it's butcher's paper?) Used gold metallic tissue paper (bought 4 packs at the Dollar Store) and cut them into fringe and taped them on the butcher paper. I found this adorable chalkboard garland in the party section at Target and figured it'd be perfect!

I found all of these plastic champagne glasses at the dollar store, 6 to a pack! They're pretty bad quality, but I was just lucky to find some on the day of the party!

Whats a party without red solo cups? Bought all of them at the Dollar Store, including the cute mini red solo cup shot glasses!!

As you can tell, the photo backdrop was a hit. I'm so lucky I was able to ring in the new year with my best friends. I couldn't have asked for a better night! I hope everyone had a safe and memorable NYE and I'm so looking forward to another great year. Bring it on 2015!! I will now proceed with binge-watching Friends on Netflix.

  24. What a great way to source (and re-purpose) one holiday's decorations for another! (I love Target sales - as a kid, the after-Christmas sale was my favorite shopping event with my dad... I have to admit that we often went overboard... although, I did just re-use a pair of reindeer antlers for my holiday outfit this year, some er, 24 years later..! :D see: http://instagram.com/p/xD5XVKHIV8/)

The HNY gold background is AWESOME. One of the tips I learned at a blogging conference was to have a great-looking background for photos (that will be instagrammed) to make your party look like *the* place to be. :D You def succeeded! Great job!
