Have a Yule That's Cool!

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas everyone! It's been such a great time already. I feel like the more I grow up, the more relaxing it is. I'm not hoping and praying I get everything I put on my Christmas list anymore. In fact, I usually forget what I even asked for in the first place. It makes the gifts that just much more surprising!

Last night was a great Christmas Eve service at our church, which included the whole candlelight shindig. Always a favorite. Then we returned home to do our traditional stand-next-to-the-tree-pic which always includes us waiting for the tripod to be set up, taking 54948 different pictures, trying to get the cat in it, and evaluating all of the shots. Then we had a little champagne toast before doing our annual Christmas jammie opening.

This morning was a calm Christmas, like its been since my brother and I have grown up. We enjoyed some breakfast goodies and coffee before opening our stockings (my favorite). Favorite thing in my stocking this year? Definitely my portable wine glass. Who knows when you'll need to take a little rosé somewhere?! LOL.

Yes, my shirt is a Cowboy Santa saying "Ho Ho Ho Y'all!"
I told you my mom has impeccable wrapping skills
We then took our turns passing out gifts and taking pictures, and watching Rascal attack the ribbons and tissue paper, of course. I got some great gifts this year. I'm so fortunate to be in a family that is able to give! I've included a pic of my goodies below, but not pictured might be my favorite gift: a hand-me-down iPad mini! I'd asked for an iPad, not really expecting to get it, but my dad decided to get my mom a new iPad, so I'm getting her old one. Score!

I think Santa is telling me I need to do my nails..
Does getting a FitBit mean I have to workout now?
I hope everyone is enjoying their celebrations and not hating family time too much. Remember, there's nothing a little alcohol can't solve! Ha! The extended family will be over soon to enjoy more Christmas and more food, whoohoo! Get something great this year? Give something great? Comment below and share!
