That Time I Almost Touched Beyoncé

Alright, alright, you got me. Maybe not "touched," but being 20 feet or so away from Beyonce is basically touching her right?! Right!! Let me back up. Last Monday, the 9th, I got to see the Queen herself in the amazing AT&T Stadium aka Jerry World aka the home of the Cowboys. One of my friends at school has some pretty dank connections in the concert world and I was lucky enough to get an invite to join him and another friend to the big night.... for free (sorry for the subtle bragging). No one knew exactly where our seats would be... but we were hoping for something good. We got more than good. How about 5th row??!?!? Yeah, we flipped out. It all seemed like a dream as we found our seats on the floor of the giant stadium. I'd been in there once before, but from our view it seemed even bigger.

An hour and a soft pretzel later, it was finally time for the opening act. I don't know if we were all out of the loop or what but we had no idea who it would be until he came on stage: DJ Khaled. We thought this was hilarious and thoroughly enjoyed his set. After the Snapchat King was another wait for the queen.

As you could probably guess, the wait was certainly with it. I'm not going to go through the whole set list and bore y'all with the details, but naturally Bey had to start the show off with 'Formation,' including the show-stopping hats from the video.

The show was honestly the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Even if it wasn't Beyoncé. the videos and staging were the best I've ever seen. Beyoncé had a large stage with a giant rotating screen that seemed to be a rectangle (short side shown above), but it would also open at other times. Check out how big this thing is (see the size difference compared to B).

In addition to the giant stage and rotating screen, it was only fitting the Queen had a runway that led to a smaller stage (the one closest to us!).

CAN YOU SEE HOW CLOSE I AM TO BEYONCÉ? OH MY GOD. Sorry. Was the bold and the caps too much? Not sorry. Obviously I was taking a ton of videos on my phone to remember the evening (shoutout to my phone for surviving at 1% for more than an hour) so I don't have a ton of photos, but here's a few to give you more of a glimpse.

Of course B did a ton of her new songs from LEMONADE but I was literally jumping for joy when she did not only her own throwbacks, such as 'Naughty Girl' and 'Crazy in Love', but she also did some Destiny's Child throwbacks like 'Survivor' and 'Bootylicious'. A M A Z I N G. It also goes without saying that her dance moves were incredible and her vocals to match. I was also extremely impressed she did a two hour set with only a few very quick changes-- no intermission for this boss ass bitch!

In case you couldn't already tell, this was one the best nights of my life. If you have the opportunity to see Bey in concert: do it. Even if you're front row, I can assure you that the nosebleed seats got quite the show too, considering her screen was the size of the arena. I have no doubt that if this concert comes out on video I will be buying it. Even if half of it is already on my phone. Seriously. Amazing.

Okay, I'll stop ranting now. But huge shoutout to my friend Danny for making my dreams come true!!
