I wish I was kidding when I say that I f******g hate “____ Favorites” posts. But I’m not. Those are the posts I skip on Bloglovin’ and Twitter. (did you see my shameless plug hyperlinks right there?) Those are totally the blog posts I roll my eyes when I see. But look at this post. Read that title. Read it and weep. I’m doing it. I’m really f*****g doing it because I want to share shit from my life with the cool people that follow me. And what better way than a basic-as-hell blog post? Damn straight. Buckle up.
Let’s begin this shindig with the Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray. Many people have heard of this saint’s drying lotion (*hint hint* look at #3) but I hadn’t heard squat about this rose water until I literally walked past it in Ulta (you know those travel-size sections by the checkout? dangerous. as. hell). I was loading up on stuff I definitely (didn’t) need for my trip to Europe and realized all the “trendy” travel bloggers always suggest having a little rose water spray to spritz during long-ass flights so I thought, “eh, what the hell,” and treated myself to this boujee, unnecessary beauty product. Boy am I glad I did. This stuff smells delicious (kind of reminds me of my Grammy, but like, in a good way. Also, hi if you’re reading this, Grammy!) and really isn’t that expensive. I used it at least 3 times each way on my 9-hour flights and almost every night before bed in Europe. It just makes you feel refreshed! I now keep it next to my bed and try to spritz before bedtime! It also helps that it’s light pink and super cute (#onbrand).
I’d be lying if I said today’s post wasn’t inspired by The Skinny Confidential. As my new favorite blog, I’m utterly obsessed with Lauryn and her lifestyle, which led me to her podcast with her husband: Him & Her Podcast. It’s interesting to get a glimpse into her lifestyle and business and I always feel like I learn something new. I listen to this ish everywhere I go: the gym, the pool, work, and even while I cook. Their hilarious dynamic always keeps me distracted from the things that usually seem to take the longest (I’m looking at you, planks). If you haven’t read The Skinny Confidential or listened to Him & Her Podcast, give it a go. (She even wrote a book!!! #girlboss)
It’s marrrrioooooooo again! This is the drying lotion I mentioned in #1. This stuff is most likely sent from the angels in heaven and comes down in a little gondola made of gold and sunshine. I’m not kidding this shit works miracles. When I say miracles, I mean it erases zits. ZITS. All you do is dab a q-tip into the bottle (don’t shake the bottle before hand!) and dab the lotion on your zits. In the morning, they’ll either be tiny or completely gone. Where was this shit in middle school?! This stuff is perfect for people like me that get a pimple here and there and impatiently want it gone ASAP.
Yes, I know, I know. Eat Pray Love is so 2010. Well, sue me. I’ve never seen the movie and I hadn’t read the book until now. I wanted a book that fueled my wanderlust while I was in Europe and this book did just the trick. I’m not going to lie to my dear followers: I haven’t finished it yet. So don’t tell me what happens. But so far I love it. Want to know a little secret? I don’t pay for any books. I simply use the Fort Worth Library app to rent books on my iPad! (If you want to know more, comment below and I’ll write a post about it!)
Last but not least: the life saver. If you’re a pale girl like me (#palegirlsclub), the summer is rough time for us. Especially if you don’t even have the time to attempt to get tan. This is where St. Tropez comes in. While other self-tanners work gradually, St. Tropez gives immediate results (if you can’t tell…. I’m impatient). I’ll put this on at night and in the morning I actually feel tan. I love it. I’ve been using the bronzing mousse for almost a year now and I love it. A few suggestions: if you’re not sure St. Tropez is for you, start out with their travel-sized bottle. It’s only $18 and it’s the same thing as the big, $42 bottle. However, the price tag is worth it. My second suggestion is to definitely get a tanning mitt. Nothing says “I just rubbed bronze goo all over my body” like orange hands. The mitt keeps this from happening! In addition to the mousse, I just recently bought the in-shower gradual tan and although I’ve only used it once, I’m interested to see how well it works. I also recently bought their facial self-tanner, because who wants a pale face with a tan body?! That’s just odd. Moral of the story is that I love St. Tropez.
